Create a Project in Studio 5000

Start by launching Studio 5000. Create a new project and select the "Studio 5000 Logix Emulate Controller" as your controller type. Provide a meaningful project name and click "Next" to continue.

Configure Studio 5000 Logix Emulate

Create a Project in FactoryTalk View SE

Once your logic is downloaded, open FactoryTalk View Studio SE. Create a new Site Edition application. Enter the application name, description, and preferred language, then click "Create" to proceed.

Set Up Communication with Studio 5000 Logix Emulate

In the Project Explorer, navigate to the Communication tab. Add a new device by selecting the 1789-A17 Virtual Backplane. Click to add a device.

Add Controller in FactoryTalk View Studio

In the device selection dialog, choose 1756-Lx/EM ControlLogix 55xx Emulator. Make sure you select the same controller and slot number that matches your Logix Emulate setup, which in this case is slot 2.

Add FactoryTalk Linx Server to Your Project

Right-click on your application name and select Add New Server. From the list, choose Rockwell Automation Device Server (FactoryTalk Linx). Enter a server name and click OK to add.

FactoryTalk Communication Setup
